UCPS Playoff Preview

The regular season has come to an end as teams are getting ready for the playoffs! Check back here for updates as the playoffs progress.

FOOTBALL

Cuthbertson

The Cavaliers finished at 7-4 overall with a 2-2 conference record.

They fell to West Forsyth on the road in Round 1 of the playoffs on Friday, November 15th.

Last season the Cavaliers finished with an overall record of 6-5 and a 1-3 conference record.

They made it to the first round of the playoffs but fell on the road to Porter Ridge.

Forest Hills

The Yellow Jackets finished at 10-4 overall with a 4-1 conference record.

They fell to Brevard on the road in Round 3 of the playoffs on Friday, December 6th.

Last season the Yellow Jackets finished with an overall record of 12-2 and a 4-1 conference record.

They made it to the fourth round of the playoffs but fell on the road to Shelby.

Marvin Ridge

The Mavericks finished at 5-7 overall with a 1-3 conference record.

They fell to Northern Guilford on the road in Round 2 of the playoffs on Friday, November 22nd.

Last season the Mavericks finished with an overall record of 6-5 and a 2-2 conference record.

They made it to the first round of the playoffs but fell at home to Mallard Creek.

Monroe

The Redhawks sit at 14-0 overall with a 5-0 conference record.

They will face Northeastern in the Championship Round of the playoffs on Saturday, December 21st.

Last season the Redhawks finished with an overall record of 11-2 and a 5-0 conference record.

They made it to the third round of the playoffs but fell on the road to Bunker Hill.

Sun Valley

The Spartans finished at 9-3 overall with a 3-1 conference record.

They fell to Weddington on the road in Round 2 of the playoffs on Friday, November 22nd.

Last season the Spartans finished with an overall record of 8-4 and a 1-3 conference record.

They made it to the second round of the playoffs but fell on the road to Grimsley.

Weddington

The Warriors finished at 13-1 overall with a 4-0 conference record.

They fell to Grimsley on the road in the Regional Round of the playoffs on Friday, December 13th.

Last season the Warriors finished with an overall record of 14-2 and a 3-1 conference record.

They made it to the championship round of the playoffs defeating Hoggard for the 4A state title.

Porter Ridge

The Pirates finished at 5-6 overall with a 0-4 conference record.

They fell to Charlotte Catholic on the road in Round 1 of the playoffs on Friday, November 15th.

Last season the Pirates finished with an overall record of 9-3 and a 3-1 conference record.

They made it to the second round of the playoffs but fell on the road to Hough.

VOLLEYBALL

Cuthbertson

The Cavaliers finished the season at 21-6 overall with a 5-3 conference record.

They fell to Reagan in the third round of the state playoffs on Saturday, October 26th.

Last season the Cavaliers finished with an overall record of 10-16 and a 2-6 conference record.

They made it to the second round of the playoffs but fell on the road to Myers Park.

Marvin Ridge

The Mavericks sit at 34-4 overall with a 8-0 conference record.

They will face Cardinal Gibbons in the championship round of the state playoffs on Saturday, November 2nd.

Last season the Mavericks finished with an overall record of 27-5 and a 8-0 conference record.

They made it to the fourth round of the playoffs but fell at home to Cox Mill.

Parkwood

The Wolf Pack finished the season at 17-7 overall with a 10-2 conference record.

They fell to East Lincoln in the first round of the state playoffs on Tuesday, October 22nd.

Last season the Wolf Pack finished with an overall record of 7-15 and a 5-7 conference record.

They did not make the playoffs last season.

Piedmont

The Panthers finished the season at 9-14 overall with a 6-6 conference record.

They fell to North Iredell in the first round of the state playoffs on Tuesday, October 22nd.

Last season the Panthers finished with an overall record of 17-8 and a 10-2 conference record.

They made it to the first round of the playoffs but fell at home to Pisgah.

Sun Valley

The Spartans finished the season at 15-13 overall with a 3-5 conference record.

They fell to Southwest Guilford in the first round of the state playoffs on Tuesday, October 22nd.

Last season the Spartans finished with an overall record of 11-17 and a 4-4 conference record.

They made it to the first round of the playoffs but fell on the road to Lake Norman.

MEN'S SOCCER

Central Academy

The Cougars finished at 12-10-2 overall with a 8-4 conference record.

They fell to Atkins on the road in Round 1 of the playoffs on Saturday, November 9th.

Last season the Cougars finished with an overall record of 12-10-2 and a 7-5 conference record.

They made it to the first round of the playoffs but fell on the road to Central Cabarrus.

Forest Hills

The Yellow Jackets finished at 11-10-3 overall with a 8-4 conference record.

They fell to Forbush on the road in Round 2 of the playoffs on Saturday, November 12th.

Last season the Yellow Jackets finished with an overall record of 12-11-2 and a 9-3 conference record.

They made it to the second round of the playoffs but fell on the road to Newton-Conover.

Marvin Ridge

The Mavericks finished at at 18-5-2 overall with a 8-0 conference record.

They fell to Wakefield on the road in the Final Round of the playoffs on Saturday, November 23rd.

Last season the Mavericks finished with an overall record of 11-9 and a 3-5 conference record.

They made it to the first round of the playoffs but fell on the road to Weddington.

Piedmont

The Panthers finished at 17-6-2 overall with a 11-0-1 conference record.

They fell to Pisgah at home in Round 2 of the playoffs on Wednesday, November 12th.

Last season the Panthers finished with an overall record of 18-3 and a 11-1 conference record.

They made it to the second round of the playoffs but fell at home to Enka.

Porter Ridge

The Pirates finished at 18-7 overall with a 4-4 conference record.

They fell to Grimsleyon the road in Round 1 of the playoffs on Saturday, November 9th.

Last season the Pirates finished with an overall record of 15-6-3 and a 3-3-2 conference record.

They made it to the third round of the playoffs but fell at home to South Mecklenburg.

Weddington

The Warriors finished at 10-7-4 overall with a 6-2 conference record.

They fell to Hickory Ridge on the road in Round 1 of the playoffs on Friday, November 8th.

Last season the Warriors finished with an overall record of 16-4-3 and a 6-2 conference record.

They made it to the fourth round of the playoffs but fell at on the road to Hickory Ridge.
