UCPS Grads Make NFL Opening Week Rosters

The NFL is the highest level of professional football in the United States. Many players hope to go pro but few will have the chance to do so. 

The building blocks for a professional career are built in high schools across the nation. Union County high schools have helped put several former student athletes on NFL rosters across the league! 

Jaleel McLaughlin Broncos

Jaleel McLaughlin is a graduate of Forest Hills High School. 

McLaughlin brought his talent to Notre Dame College and Youngstown State. 

Signed to the Denver Broncos in 2023 as a running back. 

Nick Saldiveri Saints

Nick Saldiveri is a graduate of Parkwood High School. 

Saldiveri brought his talent to Old Dominion University. 

Drafted to the New Orleans Saints in 2023 as a defensive tackle. 

Will Shipley is a graduate of Weddington High School. 

Shipley brought his talent to Clemson University.

Drafted to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023 as a running back. 

Malik Mustapha is a graduate of Weddington High School.

Mustapha brought his talent to Richmond University and Wake Forest University. 

Drafted to the San Francisco 49ers in 2024 as a safety. 

Sam Howell is a graduate of Sun Valley High School.

Howell brought his talent to the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. 

Signed to the Seattle Seahawks in 2024 as a quarterback. 

Jamison Crowder is a graduate of Monroe High School. 

Crowder brought his talents to Duke University.

Signed to the Washington Commanders in 2023 as a wide receiver.
