UCPS Basketball Teams to Watch

As the winter season heats up, all eyes are on basketball as teams are just getting started with non-conference games early this season.

Here are some teams to watch as the season progresses and we get closer to conference play.

Boys Basketball

Weddington

The Warriors sit at 6-2 overall and a 0-0 conference record.

Last season the Warriors finished with an overall record of 27-2 and a conference record of 8-0.

They made it to the third round of the playoffs falling at home to Julius Chambers.

Cuthbertson

The Cavaliers sit at 4-1 overall and a 0-0 conference record.

Last season the Cavaliers finished with an overall record of 4-21 and a conference record of 0-8.

They did not make it to the playoffs last season.

Sun Valley

The Spartans sit at 3-5 overall and a 0-0 conference record.

Last season the Spartans finished with an overall record of 8-17 and a conference record of 4-4.

They did not make it to the playoffs last season.

Porter Ridge

The Pirates sit at 2-6 overall and a 0-0 conference record.

Last season the Pirates finished with an overall record of 9-16 and a conference record of 3-5.

Piedmont
