2024 MVP AWARD WINNER
SUN VALLEY’S COLE GREEN
Green hit .424 on the season with a total of 28 hits and drove in 23 runs to help the Sun Valley Spartans to an 8-16 record this season. Green led Union County with 7 HR’s, 8 doubles and 1 triple as a senior.
Green went 3-of-4 with 2 HR’s and drove in 4 RBI in a 9-4 win over Marvin Ridge. Hit 2 HR’s and drove in a season high 6 RBI in a 13-11 win over Charlotte Country Day. Green was named 1st Team All UCHSBaseball as well as the SCC Player of the Year.
Green joins former Sun Valley greats Jacob Budzik (’22), Greg Bello (’21) and Sam Howell (‘18) to win the UCHSBaseball.com’s MVP award. Cole is headed to Rice University to continue his academic and baseball career.

CUTHBERTSON’S TYLER POTTS
Potts finished the season 9-1 striking out 55 hitters and finished with Union County leading 1.44 ERA.
Potts struck out 8 hitters in a game twice (vs. AK & Porter Ridge) and struck out 6 hitters vs. Parkwood.
Potts was named All UCHSBaseball and the SCC Pitcher of the Year while helping lead the Cavaliers to a 25-3 record, a SCC Title, SCC Tournament Title and into the 2nd Round of the 4A state playoffs.
Potts will continue his academics and baseball career at Cleveland Community College. Tyler joins former Cavalier great Peter Hendel (‘10 & ‘11) to win the UCHSBaseball.com’s Cy Young Award.Â
2024 NEW COMER OF THE YEAR
PORTER RIDGE’S AIDEN VANDENBROEK
Vandenbroek was 5-1 on the season with a 2.45 ERA and struck out 48 hitters. At the plate Vandenbroek hit .290 with 18 hits, 2 doubles, one homerun and drove in 6 RBI while scoring 5 runs.
Vandenbroek was named 1st Team All-UCHSbaseball.com and All-SCC.
