2023 FALL SPORTS IMPORTANT DATES

Dear Parents,

Below are links to a Cheer, a Chant, and a Dance that each student is to learn to prepare for Tryouts this Monday, July 24th and Tuesday, July 25th!  The students will also be asked to do one jump for Tryouts – a Toe Touch.

Monday, July 24^th from 1pm – 3pm will be a Tryout Clinic where the students will be reviewing in person what they have learned through the video links and can ask questions – please come to the Tryout Clinic prepared.

Tuesday, July 25^th will be Tryouts in front of judges.  The students will perform in groups of 3-4 students which will be assigned the day of Tryouts.  Tryouts will start at 1pm and the students will be dismissed as soon as their Tryouts are over.

Attire for both days of Tryouts is as follows:

Attire for each day of Tryouts is a plain white t-shirt with sleeves; navy, royal, black, or orange Soffe or athletic shorts; cheer shoes or white sneakers; hair in a high ponytail.  NO MS, HS, or Allstar logos on anything is permitted.  NO jewelry.  Bows are Optional, but may have NO logos on them either.  If the students are not in proper attire, they will NOT be permitted to tryout.

Each day the students should meet at the picnic tables outside the MRMS gym.

Note:  For those who make the squads, the 1^st practice is on August 1^st

Notes:

For the Cheer and Chant:

Whenever the videos show the cheerleaders from the back, that is just for teaching purposes.  All the students will face forward, facing the judges during the Cheer, the Chant, and the Toe Touch jump.

For the Dance:

The students start facing the judges, then turn to the back for a short time in the second and fifth (8) counts (See the Front View).
